Day One
Arrive to the historic Middlebury Inn where we'll receive a warm greeting from our local guide and festive welcome reception! Relax and enjoy the Inn's amenities before sitting down to a delicious dinner served in the main dining room. This evening, relax by the fireplace and enjoy the decorative surroundings.
D, WDay Two
This morning, enjoy a hearty breakfast before setting out for a fun filled adventurous day! Start the day with a visit to one of Vermont's Christmas Tree Farms for a view of the field of trees and a brief talk about the farm. Then, Midday, we'll visit the famous Trapp Family Lodge for a festive holiday luncheon. This afternoon, continue to Stowe Village for time to shop and explore. Be sure to visit the Stowe Mercantile for authentic New England items and sample many tasty Vermont specialties. Later, freshen up before enjoying a light buffet dinner back at the Inn along with holiday entertainment.
B, L, DDay Three
This morning after breakfast, enjoy time in Middlebury's Exchange Street District. Visit the Vermont Soap Company, Maple Landmark Woodcraft and Danforth Pewter and enjoy watching demonstrations from craftsmen from each. Then, venture to the Mountain Top Inn, where we'll be welcomed with refreshments and enjoy Horse Drawn Sleigh Rides taking us back in time as we wind along wooded trails and across open fields. Experience the fresh scent of the pines, feeling the runners glide and hearing the sleigh bells ringing sofltly. An old-fashioned New England winter experience not to be forgotten! Then, we'll gather for a delicious luncheon at the Inn. We'll finish the afternoon with a visit to the New England Maple Museum to learn the history of maple sugaring and sample their syrups. This evening, enjoy a scrumptious dinner along with light entertainment, caroling and a special visit from Santa.
B, L, DDay Four
Enjoy a full breakfast before checking out and heading to the Vermont Country Store. Stop in the 1946 New England Country Store on the National Historic Register. Like shopping in a museum with fascinating merchandise and New England antiques. Gather your treasures before heading home!
