Get Ready to be Welcomed to Coastal Maine!

Embark on a vacation to the Maine Coast. This beautiful state has 3,478 miles of spectacular coastline and harvests the majority of lobster in the United States!  This particular trip will travel to a handful of coastal towns and seaside villages.  Explore coastal views and lighthouses galore, learn the rich culture of the area and even explore the breathtaking Acadia National Park.

Day One

Enjoy a leisurely drive aboard a deluxe Klein motorcoach in route to Portland. Driver making comfort stops and a lunch stop on the way. Lunch will be quick fare on your own. This afternoon make your way to the outskirts of Portland, Maine for your overnight stay. Check-in and freshen up for an included dinner near the hotel. After dinner a Maine Tour "lobsterette" will greet you and provide walking maps of each village you'd be visiting as well as a souvenier Lobster Hat!

Day Two

Wake up and start your day with an inlcuded Breakfast at the hotel before making your way to Portland. A local guide will climb aboard for a narrated tour of Portland - Maine's largest city-by-the-sea. You'll travel through the historic neighborhoods, learn about Portland's unique maritime history, pass by Longfellow's boyhood home and many sea captain mansions overlooking Casco Bay. Your tour includes "The lighthouse Loop" with a stop at Portland Head Lighthouse - Maine's Oldest Beacon, set in a beautiful park with crashing surf as a backdrop. Then see two nearby lighthouses and the WWII shipyard memorial at Bug Light Park. Enjoy lunch on your own and free time for exploring Freeport village, home to the LL Bean flagship store and a myriad of casual restaurants and outlet shops. Make your way north to Bangor, Maine for a two night stay, check in then enjoy a scrumptious plated dinner included this evening at a local favorite.

Day Three

After your included breakfast, make your way to Bar Harbor, Cross the causeway onto Mt. Desert Island, celebrated for its breathtaking beauty ever since the island was discovered in 1604 by Samuel de Champlain, who named it for its bare, desert-like mountaintops. Before lunch on own in Bar Harbor take a fabulous nature cruise on Frenchman's Bay and see the beauty of the coastline and Acadia National Park shoreline with a naturalist aboard. The tour boat offers both inside and outside decks for best viewing. In the afternoon your local guide will take you touring Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. See the breathaking beauty that has attracted the elite to this area for years. You will trvael the entire Park Loop Road with stops at Cadillac Mountian, Thunder Hole on Ocean Drive and Sieur De Monts Spring's Wild Gardens of Acadia, plus learn about the rich and famous visitors who built summer cottages in Bar Harbor. This evening don your Lobster Hat for a traditional Maine Lobster bake dinner with all the fixin's in a water view setting. You'll want to bring your appetite for this feast - non-lobster meal option is offered for any landlubbers!

Day Four

After your included breakfast you'll travel along the beautiful mid-coast Maine shoreline villages. Stop for a photo atop Mt. Battie within the beautiful Camden Hills State Park. You'll see the towns made famous by the movie Peyton Place, a seal named Andre, and Edna St. Vincent Millay. In Rockland, the lobster capital, visit the Maine Lighthouse Museum, which houses a unique collection of local lighthouse artifacts and culture. You can see the picturesque Rockland beacon at the entrance to the harbor here. After lunch on your own along Rockland's artsy Main Street, sit back and relax for your travel back to Maine's pristine south coast region. Meet your local guide for a narrated tour of Kennebunkport. You'll tour tow shipbuilding villages, har the history and folklore as you drive past he beaches, hear the legend of the Wedding Cake House and mritime history of sea catains and shipbuilders. You will travel through the port and along Ocean Avenue, pass the Bush summer home at Walker's Point and visit the Franciscan Monastery with its seaside shrines and gardens. Once done touring for the day, you'll roll up your sleeves for a traditional Maine lobsterbake with sing-a-long entertainment in York Harbor! Step out back to see how the lobsters are prepared, then feast on your choice of Maine Favorites including MORE LOBSTER and BLUEBERRY CAKE!

Enjoy your final breakfast before checking out and traveling home with your magical Maine seacost memories.
