See the bustling inner harbor, while learning about the past, present and future of the historic waterfront area including Charles Navy Yard, Boston's fishing industry, Tea Party site and more. Enjoy an Expanded Continental Breakfast with hot choices before setting out to enjoy the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad. Guests will ride the train, traveling the historic tracks of the Boston & Maine railroad as they overlook impressive Lake Winnipesaukee. After the train ride, set sail on a wonder cruise on Lake Winnipesaukee, an Indian term meaning Beautiful Water in a High Place. Relax and enjoy this 72 square mile lake, the largest in New Hampshire. Fabulous views with 365 islands and three mountain ranges surrounding the lake. Enjoy a delicious hot and cold lunch buffet as you cruise. After the cruise enjoy some free time in the charming lakeside New Hampshire village of Wolfeboro before departing for the historic seaside town of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Originally a working seaport where merchant ships traveled up and down the Piscataqua River, Portsmouth continues to be a working port where tugboats can be seen escorting ships through the currents of this tidal river. Listed as one of America's Dozen Distinctive Destinations by The National Trust for Historic Preservation, Portsmouth is called "one of the most culturally rich destinations in the country" with a mix of historic buildings, sidewalk cafes, great restaurants, art galleries, and distinctive artisans' boutiques. It's a very busy touring day as guests awake to another expanded continental breakfast with hot choices. The day begins by taking a trip back in time aboard the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad - enjoying magnificent views of Portland's waterfront aboard antique rail cars pulled by hard-working steam and diesel locomotives. Discover the unique two-foot gauge trains that linked rural Maine to the rest of the world. After a wonderful morning, passengers will depart for Old Port, Portland, where they can enjoy lunch on their own, shop, sightsee, relax and take in the views in the city's historic waterfront district. Late afternoon we'll depart on the Portland Lights & Sights Harbor Cruise. Maine's rugged, rocky coast and picturesque lighthouses - what a combo! The scene unfolds as you cruise from Portland's scenic harbor seeing the Calendar Islands, Civil War era forts, Maine lobster boats, playful seals and an array of seabirds. View as many as seven ighthouses including an up-close experience at Maine's oldest and historic lighthouse, Portland Headlight, proudly perched on one of Maine's famous rocky outcrops overlooking this beautiful harbor. After the cruise stop at Nubble Light for a photo-op at Maine's most photographed Lighthouse. And finally end the day by kicking back for a traditional Maine Lobster Bake Dinner with entertainment.
