Director of Safety & Operations  

 

The Director of Operations and Safety oversees the driver and maintenance staff at Klein Transportation to ensure the safest operation of the company’s assets and facilities.  This person will work directly with the President, Senior Vice President and Vice President of Sales and Marketing to ensure a cohesive, positive rapport and message throughout the company.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

• Responsible for leading the operations and safety of motorcoach, school bus and maintenance departments.

• Provide support to the President and CEO.

• Work alongside the Senior Vice President and Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

 

Qualifications

 

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Demonstrates leadership and vision managing staff groups.

• Ability to work independently and with others.

• Open to direction and a collaborative work style.

• High comfort level working in a diverse environment.

• Attention to detail and organization.

• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite.

 

Experience/Education/Requirements

 

• Professional experience in the transportation industry with a high level of understanding of DOT, FMSCA, TSA and OSHA requirements.

• Experience managing staff groups of diverse skill sets.

• CDL with Passenger Endorsement or willingness to obtain.

• PA School Bus Instructor Certificate for training or willing to obtain.

• Ability to work a rotating after hours on call schedule.

• Live within 45 minutes of terminal or ability and willingness to relocate.

• High School Graduate/Equivalent or higher.
